A high-quality, natural sheepskin is a lifelong investment. Because our skins are sustainably sourced and tanned, they possess natural oils (lanolin) that keep them soft and dirt-resistant.

Follow these simple steps to keep your piece looking beautiful for years to come.

The most effective way to freshen your sheepskin is the traditional way.

• The Shake: Take your sheepskin outside once a week and give it a vigorous shake to remove dust and loose debris.
• Fresh Air: On a dry day, hang it outside in a breeze. Natural wool loves fresh air—it helps the fibers "breath" and naturally deodorizes the skin.

To keep your sheepskin looking like a cloud, it needs a little "grooming."

• The Tool: Use a metal-bristled Slicker Brush (standard pet brushes work perfectly).
• The Method: Gently brush the wool in all directions to untangle fibers and restore the natural loft and fluffiness.

If you drop something on your rug, don't worry—natural wool is surprisingly water-repellent.

• Act Quickly: Blot the spill with a clean, dry paper towel. Do not rub!
• Mild Cleaning: Use a damp cloth with a tiny amount of pH-neutral wool detergent.
• Air Dry Only: Let the skin dry naturally away from direct sunlight or artificial heat (like radiators), which can cause the leather to harden.

We strongly advise against machine washing. The heat and spinning can strip the natural lanolin from the wool and cause the leather backing to shrink or become brittle.

• For a deep clean, we recommend using a professional dry cleaner who specializes in leather and suede.

If you need to put your sheepskin away for a season:

• No Plastic: Never store sheepskin in a plastic bag.
• Use Cotton: Use a breathable cotton bag or an old pillowcase. This prevents moisture buildup and keeps the leather supple.
