Living here on the Isle of Skye, right near the edge of the world at Neist Point Lighthouse, you learn very quickly to respect the elements. I spend so much of my time out on those cliffs, surrounded by the wild wind and the sheep that roam freely across the hills. There’s a specific kind of magic here, but there’s also a deep, bracing cold!
It was those long hikes around Neist Point that really inspired me. I found myself coming home and craving a certain kind of warmth—a soft, natural sanctuary to sink into.
I started sourcing these beautiful sheepskins first for my own fireside, and then for my guests who come to stay at my Aurora Rural Retreats. I wanted them to have that same "hug" of coziness after a day of exploring the island. Seeing how much they loved them made me realize I wanted to share this feeling with the rest of the world.
So, I created the Aurora Range. sheepskin Skye inspired
I’ve spent so much time lovingly curating, choosing each piece—sourced from British hill sheep, designed to bring a bit of our rugged island comfort into your home. It’s a little piece of my Skye living from my home to yours.

Traditional Scottish crofting relies on heritage sheep breeds that have roamed our rugged hillsides for centuries. The Aurora Range celebrates this history by offering completely natural, un-dyed fleeces—including deeply textured Icelandic longwool, multi-toned Jacob fleeces, and rich, dark Hebridean tones. When you choose an Aurora piece, you are investing in a sustainably sourced, single-origin work of art that reflects the true spirit of the Scottish Highlands.
Our Commitment to Crofting & Sustainable Provenance
Every single fleece in the Aurora Range tells a story of the Scottish landscape. We work hand-in-hand with traditional crofters and ethical British suppliers to source heritage wools that are a natural, sustainable byproduct of traditional agriculture.
Rather than relying on mass industrial processing, our rare-breed sheepskins are carefully selected for their unique genetic traits—preserving the natural, rustic character of the flocks.
Styling Your Scottish Heritage Fleece
A premium, rare-breed sheepskin is a versatile, timeless investment piece for modern interior design. The deep, insulating textures of our longwool Icelandic fleeces add instant warmth to Nordic-style living spaces, while the striking patches of our Jacob sheepskins serve as dramatic focal points when draped over leather chairs or hardwood floors. Whether utilized as a luxurious bedside runner, a cozy throw for an outdoor seating area, or a soft accent for a nursery, these natural textiles bring the wild beauty and comforting hygge of an Isle of Skye retreat directly into your home.
